Peaches in Wine

Serves 6 – 8

8 – 10 ripe peaches, peeled pitted and sliced.
1 cup dry red wine
2 tbsp sugar
1” piece of cinnamon
2 cloves
zest of 1 lemon

Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and leave for 1 hour. Remove the cinnamon and cloves. Serve cooled but not chilled with amaretti.
